The Half-and-Half Pizza at Domino’s has long been a favorite for many especially those who can’t seem to decide or agree on their toppings – couples, families, friends, co-workers, and vegetarians hanging out with meat-eating friends. It’s the perfect pizza option that lets you split your pizza into two, with one type of topping on one side and another on the other.
Papa John’s and Pizza Hut also offer a Half and Half option. For example you can order a half pepperoni, half cheese, half beef and half chicken or any other combination of toppings you prefer.
Domino’s Pizza Half ‘N’ Half Unavailable During Covid-19
While Domino’s Half and Half’s very popular, they stopped offering it during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Metro asked Domino’s why they halted the Half and Half, and the response was:
“We understand many loyal fans are frustrated that their much-loved Half and Half pizza is not currently available, and we’re really sorry. Due to COVID-19, local authorities have set out temporary guidance resulting in tighter kitchen restrictions and fewer pizza chefs. This means we’ve had to remove some pizzas from the menu temporarily. Although it’s disappointing not to be able to order your favorite, we know customers will understand it’s crucial to look after our team members so we can remain open safely.“
When pressed further, a spokesperson added:
“Our popular Half and Half is a more complex and time-consuming pizza to make. With fewer team members in-store, it’s important for us to reduce complexity where we can, to ensure our teams are safe and our customers do not experience any delays with their orders.“
So, the main reason people couldn’t order a Half and Half was that it was too complicated and time-consuming to make with reduced staff.
Domino’s Half ‘n’ Half is Back
It’s back now, thankfully! Some UK locations still don’t offer it, but life goes on. I recommend ordering two small pizzas instead. But for those lucky enough to be able to resume ordering the Half and Half, be glad. You can once again enjoy the flexibility and variety that this pizza option provides.
Can you order Domino’s half and half in the app?
Yes you can order the half and half both in the Domino’s Pizza app and Uber Eats. It’s under the Build Your Own Pizza category, and will let you choose your size for the pizza, as well as the toppings for the left side and the right side. If ordering different sauces, it may or may not be allowed. Best you can do is to add special instructions to your order and then call the store.
Does Domino’s Do Half & Half Sauces?
Many Domino’s locations would say no to half and half sauces (example BBQ and Alfredo) especially during peak hours as it’s very time consuming and such a hassle to do. However, here are some feedback from Domino’s employees:
We do it, but I caution customers against it. If they order half sauces that are the same color (regular and pasta, alfredo and garlic parm) I tell them we’ll try, but I’m not offering remakes for any reason. It’s your fault if you ordered something that’s as difficult to make as telling which half of a white sauce pepperoni is different, especially when it’s for delivery and we’re all feeling that time crunch.
Anyway, our rule of thumb is if you can ring it up, they can order it. Anything else is off menu and generally not done, except for when people are tired of arguing about why they can’t get half and half sauces or only drumsticks or whatever.
Although it’s rare, we do it. I don’t see why other people say it’s a fuss, it’s very easy. We tell people it might bleed over in the middle and they’re cool with that 99 percent of the time.
I’ve always been told no and personally have never done it. Sometimes, it’s just a hassle, and usually if you’re in a pinch it’s pretty hard to pull off well. They also usually will bleed into one another in the middle, which makes it VERY gross. I also think it OER is present you wouldn’t be able to do it. I’d go with what your GM says, though, you work with them at the end of the day and you want the best relationship with them as possible.
How to Order the Half-and-Half Pizza at Domino’s
To order Domino’s half and half pizza in-store, simply inform the cashier that you’re ordering the Half and Half, and then tell them the toppings and/or sauce you want for each half. If ordering via the Domino’s App, you’ll be able to find the Half and Half option at the Build Your Own Pizza category where you will be asked to choose your toppings and/or sauce for one side and then for the other.
