Domino's Lava Cake

Domino’s started offering desserts back in 2001 and I think we can all agree that the Chocolate Lava Crunch Cake is the best dessert on the menu. In fact, Mashed recently conducted a survey asking people which pizza chain in the United States has the best desserts and Domino’s came out the winner with 36% of the votes.

Here’s a look at Domino’s dessert menu items:

This is a heavenly combination of gooey milk chocolate chunk cookie and rich fudge brownie. The brownie cake is baked to perfection and then cut into 9 shareable pieces.

What to Know Before Ordering Domino’s Lava Crunch Cake

While a lot (if not all) fast-food pizza joints offer desserts, Domino’s chocolate lava crunch cake stands out. It was added to their menu in 2009 and each order includes 3 cakes, which makes it perfect for sharing.

Although this dessert is a staple on Domino’s menu, the origins of the chocolate lava cake are hotly contested. Two renowned pastry chefs, Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Jacques Torres, both claim to have created this iconic treat featuring a chocolate sponge filled with molten chocolate sauce. Others argue that the lava cake was the result of an underbaked cake, or attribute its origin to a second-place recipe in the 1966 Pillsbury bake-off called the Tunnel of Fudge.

For some, chocolate is the ultimate conclusion to any meal. It’s rich and indulgent and with the lava cake you get layered textures. Reviews of Domino’s version of the lava cake highlight the appealing contrast between the crunchy exterior and gooey center, which is just one of the reasons we love this dessert.

Customer Reviews About Domino’s Desserts

I’m typically not a Domino’s kind of guy, but this location gets it right! Delicious crust option with plenty of toppings, and super scrumptious chocolate lava cakes! Man they’re soooo good… Whether I’m ordering delivery, or picking up an order from carry-out, I have the pleasure of being treated with respect by their extremely polite employees and I am ALWAYS accommodated accordingly if a mistake is made on my order (we’re only human people, mistakes happen!). Luckily they are few and far between here! All in all, this is an exceptional Domino’s, with outstanding food and customer service that is DEFINITELY a cut (or slice, hahah) above the norm!

Excellent breakfast or dessert Cinnamon Bread Twists!

Neve had these before but was given these with different size of Pizza for Father’s Day. And these Cinnamon Bread Twists were a GREAT brunch item. olden brown. Crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. Drizzled with a moist blend of cinnamon and sugar, and served with a side of sweet icing for dipping or drizzling. I drizzled! If you’re going to get Domino’s Pizza, well worth it. And, while $5.99 seems a little steep, there’s lots of them. Would definitely order again.

Fast Pizza; Great brownies

Got in after 10; wife was hungry. She NEVER wants pizza, but the motel had a Domino’s menu and she decided to call and order. Pizza got there faster than the 30 minutes they told her; pizza was fresh and hot; the brownie that came with the combo was also fresh and hot … and darn good. Nice clean delivery guy. Thanks Domino’s.
